The system, which was specially developed for the bicycle industry, forms the central database for the extensive product range - from bicycles and e-bikes to accessories - and enables Prophete to manage product information centrally, efficiently and in a future-proof manner.
Customised data structure for different teams
In order to fulfil the different requirements of the Bikes and Parts product areas, Prophete relies on two independent VeloPIM instances. These were customised to the processes and structures of the respective teams in close cooperation with Campudus. Bikes and accessories can thus be managed separately while maintaining a centralised data logic.
Seamless integration into existing system landscape
VeloPIM has been directly linked to the ERP system Navision in order to optimise the interaction with the processes in place. New articles and relevant information such as the recommended retail price can be synchronised automatically. Prophete’s new online shop is also fully linked to VeloPIM. All product information, from technical details to marketing texts, comes directly from the PIM system.
Future-orientated implementation of legal requirements
From February 2027, the digital battery passport will be mandatory for e-bikes. A regulatory innovation that poses major challenges for many manufacturers. This is because it requires not only the complete, standard-compliant recording of a wide range of technical and chemical information, but also the structured maintenance and provision of this information in a standardised format.
Together with Prophete, Campudus has expanded the bicycle-specific data schema in VeloPIM so that all relevant information is maintained centrally in the PIM system. The battery pass can be automatically generated from this at any time - always based on the latest product data.
Furthermore, the reform of the CLP Regulation, which extends the labelling requirements for hazardous chemicals in online retail from 1 July 2026, was implemented directly in VeloPIM. All mandatory information, including hazard warnings and pictograms, is maintained centrally and displayed in the right place in Prophete’s online shop. Prophete therefore already fulfills all legal requirements for online retail of products containing batteries or hazardous substances.
“With VeloPIM from Campudus, we have found a system with a perfect fit for us: It covers the special requirements of our e-bike and bicycle range as well as our accessories range, can be flexibly customised and is a decisive step for us to meet the requirements of modern mobility and technology-based business. Together with our new online shop, it forms the basis for our digital growth.” - Halil Öztürk, Project Manager PIM Integration
